Oxford Parks and Rec Offers Memorial Day 5K Freedom Run
The run (or walk) will be held on Monday, May 25. An event for kids is also going to be held.

Looking for a fun place to run (or walk) a 5K course on Memorial Day?
The Oxford Parks and Recreation is hosting its 7th Annual Memorial Day 5K Freedom Run on Monday, May 25th at 8:00am.
The race starts at the Oxford Town Hall, 486 Oxford Road and goes south on Rt 67 to the Pleasant Valley Shopping Center and back to Town Hall. The course has been USATF certified. All net proceeds will go to our own members of the active and veteran military. Walkers are also welcome to participate in the 2 mile fitness walk.

The cost to participate is $25 per person if you register in advance. Veterans and active military personnel may participate for FREE! Wheelchairs and Baby Joggers are also welcome! The first 200 registrants will receive a commemorative race T-shirt.
Prizes will be awarded in various categories. Due to its overwhelming popularity, we will also once again hold the Kids Rock Hopper Fun Run. Kids ages 5-12 will run from the Town Hall to Oxford Center School and back for a total of ½ mile. The Rock Hopper Fun Run registration fee is $10 and the first 100 kids to register will receive fun gifts as well!

Vets and Active Military personnel must call the Parks and Rec office to register. Come one, come all!
Get a little exercise and support our Veterans on Memorial Day! After the race, hang around for the always exciting, annual Oxford Memorial Day Parade! What a great way to spend the morning with your family as we honor those who gave so much for our freedom!
