Chowder Days at Mystic Seaport

Celebrate a crisp fall day with hot chowder at Mystic Seaport's annual Chowder Days. Food will be available to purchase: chowders, burgers, bratwurst, clam fritters, desserts and more. Trip price includes admission to Mystic Seaport where you can stroll the nation's leading maritime museum and enjoy the festival activities: food, music, arts and crafts. Then enjoy a fall foliage cruise aboard the Sabino. Behold the views of the Mystic River at the peak of autumn color.

HALLOWEEN IN SALEM, MA

The name of Salem is inextricably linked to the Witchcraft Hysteria of the 1690's. Spend Halloween in this wonderful town and learn how the Witches got their names. Trip includes a special interior tour of Salem's premier historic site - The House of the Seven Gables. Built in 1668, this is the oldest surviving 17th century wooden mansion in New England and inspired author Nathaniel Hawthorne to write his legendary novel. Don't miss climbing the secret staircase!

Then enjoy time on your own at the street festivities in downtown.

Come see the Glitter of Gold and Sparkle of Silver at 2 magnificent mansions. The Marble House is the mansion of William Vanderbilt and is inspired by Versailles. Exquisite marble Corinthian columns with holiday decorations fill the mansion with beauty. Audio guide is included so enjoy an exceptional tour as you explore the mansion.

The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's cottages and is the sumptuous mansion of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt. Upon arrival everyone receives an audio guide so you can walk through at your leisure listening to the story of the mansion.
