Oxford Patient Neglected for Hours By Employee: Police

They eventually called 911, asking for an ambulance.

OXFORD, CT- An Employment Options group home employee was arrested by police after a bedridden patient called 911 for an ambulance, claiming they had been neglected for two hours, NBC Connecticut reported.

Elisia Rotella, 45, is accused of not administering medical treatment to a bedridden patient with an undisclosed time-sensitive issue, according to NBC Connecticut. She made bail, but is charged with reckless endangerment and will appear in court at the end of the month.

Employment Options cares for patients with traumatic brain injuries and developmental disabilities, as reported by NBC Connecticut. The patient was taken to Waterbury Hospital for examination.
