Oxford Remains Under a Blizzard Warning

The storm is expected to wind down later today.

The good news is there are no power outages reported in Oxford Tuesday morning.

But that doesn’t mean the blizzard is over, not by a long shot.

A blizzard warning remains in effect for Oxford until 6 p.m. as snow accumulation totals are still forecast for 20-30 inches with snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour.

Winds will gust up to 45 miles per hour, and it is bitterly cold with temperatures in the 13-23 degree range.

The National Weather Service states this storm still is “life-threatening” and travel is “extremely dangerous” due to snowfall and strong winds.

When will the snow stop in Oxford?

The National Weather Service predicts the snow will taper off by 6 p.m.

  • Snow. High near 22. Wind chill values between zero and 10. Blustery, with a north wind 14 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
  • Tonight A chance of light snow, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 8. Wind chill values between -5 and 5. North wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
