Oxford Resident Trooper's Office to Participate in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

The initiative aims to provide a responsible and convenient way to discard prescription drugs.

The Oxford Resident Trooper’s Office will participate in “National Prescription Drug Take Back Day” on Sept. 27.

Residents can dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

The collection will take place at the Oxford Resident Trooper’s Office, located on 429 Oxford Road. The event is free and anonymous.

The program was set forth by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and began in 2010.

According to the DEA, since the program began thousands of events have been sponsored in local towns across the nation resulting in the collection of roughly four million pounds of drugs.
