Oxford School Board Chair Dies After Cancer Battle: Report
Colleagues say she cared deeply about the students.

OXFORD, CT — Board of Education Chairwoman Melissa Cole, 32, died recently after a long cancer battle, the Republican-American reports. Cole served four years on the school board.
Officials told the Rep-Am that Cole had dreamed about being school chairman and she was able to accomplish that. They said that Cole cared about the Oxford students and their well-being.
Susan O’Brien was recently elected as the new chairwoman.
