Oxford School Budget Request Includes All-Day Kindergarten Proposal

The program was proposed for this year but was reduced during budget deliberations.

The Oxford Board of Education approved a $26.1 million budget for fiscal 2015-16, which increases spending by $964,942 or 3.5 percent over the current spending plan, reports Jordan Otero, of the Republican-American.

The key element in the budget request is the proposal to add an all-day kindergarten program next year costing $136,738.

Last year during the budget process the proposal was axed but school officials are hopeful to add it for next year, Otero reports.
