Oxford Schools Teacher Suspended: Report

OXFORD, CT — Great Oak Middle School Teacher Christopher D. Cevetillo is currently suspended with pay after a local parent said the teacher unfairly targeted her son because of his weight, the Republican-American reports.

The teacher has denied the allegations and in writing called them a "malicious attack by an irate parent." Nancy Lang filed the complaint on behalf of her son, who is now at the High School. In one case, the teacher showed an Abbott and Costello video and allegedly said “look (complainant) it’s you," in reference to Costello, who was overweight. Several other specific examples were cited, the Rep-Am reports.

The Rep-Am reports that after reviewing the teacher's personnel file, other complaints have been lodged in the past over comments made.
