Oxford Softball Advances in States

Sophomore Ashley Guillette pitched a four-hitter for Oxford, propelling the Wolverines to a 5-0 victory over Hale Ray High School at Oxford on Wednesday. 

In the first and fourth innings, Guillette pitched her way out of a jam as the bases were loaded. She struck out the last two batters each inning to keep Hale Ray off the scoreboard.

In the fourth inning, Marissa Downs hit a sacrifice fly to score Makena Hillman. Bobbie Stildon then hit a single to left to score Katelyn Wentz and Guillette.

Wentz later hit a sacrifice fly to score Dallas Passerine and Hillman scored again on a Shannon Barsevich double.
