Oxford Taxpayers Save On Senior Center Floor Repairs

The original estimate for the work was $21,000.

Some good news for Oxford’s taxpayers!

Originally, town officials estimated it would cost $21,000 to repair a buckling floor at the Oxford Senior Center.

But a bid by Oxford Flooring, of $15,000, came in $6,000 under what town officials estimated. The second bid was for $20,900.

The project includes repairing the original floor, which is buckling and needs to be stripped, and then about 2,800-square-feet of tile needs to go down.

The selectmen expressed confidence that tile and not carpeting is the best fix for the floor.
