
Girls Track
The Oxford Girls wrapped up the regular season Wednesday at Joel Barlow. They defeated Laurelton Hall and Stratford and lost to Joel Barlow.
The team finished the season 10-4 (6-1 in the SWC Patriot Division). This is the best record in the school's history for Girls' Track and highest finish in the Patriot Divison. 20 of the 35 girls on the team qualifed for the SWC and Class S Championships.
The 4x800 meter relay team of Brianna Hoffner, Kristen Au, Jasmin Leung and Elizabeth Rascko came in 2nd with a time of 11:24. The 4x100 meter relay team of Jasmyn DiPetro, Savada Robinson, Audrey Pratt and Hannah VanBuiten came in 2nd with a time of 52.4 The 4x400 meter relay team of Becky Gumbrewicz, Jasmin Leung, Kristen Barbaris and Lindsey Koski came in 3rd with a time of 4:37 Taylor Drayton won the Javelin (104-3), Discus (115-6) and Shot Put (36-6).
Drayton was undefeated throughout the year in the Shot Put Savada Robinson came in 2nd in the 100 Hurdles (16.2) 300 Intermediate Hurdles (47.6) and 200 meter dash (26.0). Robinson set school records in all 3 events. Anne Dennen won the High Jump with a jump of 4-8 Brooke VanBuiten came in 2nd in the High Jump with a jump of 4-6 Audrey Pratt won the Triple Jump (30-9.5) and placed second in the Shot Put (29-7.5) and placed 3rd in the long jump with a jump of 13-8 Jasmyn DiPetro won the Long Jump with a jump of 14-4 Kristen Barbaris won the 1600 in a time of 5:47 Jasmin Leung came in 3rd in the 1600 in a time of 6:03 Juila Low-Chappell came in 3rd in the Javelin with a throw of 81-8.
The girls next meet is Monday, May 20, at Bethel HS for the SWC Championships.
Baseball
The Oxford High School baseball team defeated Joel Barlow Saturday behind a three-run double from Dale Keller in the sixth inning.
Neil Ring had two hits and an RBI for Oxford, which finishes the regular season at 14-6. Dan Kudej hit a solo homer and scored twice.
Softball
Ashley Guillette continued her phenomenal season with a two-hitter in an 11-2 victory over Lewis Mills on Saturday.
Samantha Orner had two hits and scored twice for Oxford, which finishes the regular season at 18-2. Guillette helped herself at the plate with a double and three RBIs. Meg Sastrum, Katelyn Wentz and Taylor Lauder had RBI singles.
