Oxford Varsity High Cheer Team Honored
The cheerleaders ranked first in the Class S State Championship.

OXFORD, CT — First Selectman George Temple and Selectman Scott Flaherty honored the varsity cheer team from Oxford High School at the March 20, 2019 Board of Selectmen meeting. The cheerleaders ranked first in the Class S State Championship.
They were presented with certificates of accomplishment for their successful season. Coach Haley Dauerty stated, “I am very proud of the team this year. They are an extremely dedicated group of kids who never gave up this season. We had three nominees of the All- NVL team make the team and all five nominated All-State candidates made the Class S All-State team. Not only were they successful on the mat, we were proud of our kid’s successes off the mat including multiple community service events. This team has a special part of Oxford Cheerleading history.”
Members of the JV Cheerleading team include: Danielle Barberio, Caroline Benczkowski, Ali Biondo, Madison Bizzotto, Kendra Bogart, Vanessa Chop, Isabella Chop, Erin Cote, Ashleigh Dugan, Molly Jacob, Alena Kica, Lia Luff, Hailey Lyder, Danielle Manning, Teresa Mineo, Jenna Myers, Isabella Pavia, Nicole Pavia, Mackenzie Sill, Emily Zibelin.
