Oxford Volleyball Knocks Off Another Undefeated Team

The Wolverines used great blocking and a full team effort to knock off Southington Wednesday.

The Oxford High School volleyball team took down Southington in straight sets on the road Wednesday to remain undefeated, 7-0, on the season.

Oxford won 25-19, 25-18 and 25-20. The team was led by Bobby Costigan (12 kills, two blocks, six digs),  Jason Mraz (seven kills, six blocks), Eric Jensen (six kills, six blocks), Josh Thorne (seven kills), Ed Carver (10 digs) and Pat Cragan (32 assists).

The team blocked well in the second and third games against a powerful Southington offense.

This is Oxford's second biggest win of the season thus far. Last week, the Wolverines knocked off Cheshire, which had been riding an incredible 47-game win streak prior to meeting up with Oxford. 

The next game for the Wolverines is at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 22, at home against Kolbe Cathedral.
