Oxford's Caylee Richardson Named SCSU Athlete of the Week

Richardson is a senior on the Southern Connecticut State University women's cross country team.

Oxford’s Caylee Richardson, a senior on the Southern Connecticut State University women’s cross country team, along with and sophomore Chae Brangman (St. George’s, Bermuda) of the men’s soccer team, was named the Connecticut Army National Guard/Southern Connecticut State University Athlete of the Week.

Richardson was the Owls’ top finisher at the New England Championship this weekend with a time of 19:18.7. Thanks in part to her performance, the Owls placed 37th as a team at the all-division event.

Brangman was instrumental in the Owls’ 2-1 win at No. 15 nationally ranked Merrimack on Saturday, scoring both SCSU goals in the match. The game-winner came on a penalty kick in the 74th minute. Southern extended its unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1) with the win over the Warriors.
