Gov. Malloy has proposed a major reduction in state aid for Oxford.

OXFORD, CT — First Selectman George R. Temple vows that despite a threatened $4 million cut in state aid to Oxford that he'll somehow find a way to deliver a tax cut for local residents, reports the Republican-American.

Gov. Malloy has proposed major reductions in state aid to numerous local towns in Connecticut in an effort to move state funds to larger cities such as Hartford and Bridgeport. Oxford could lose $4 million but that is only if the General Assembly approves Malloy's plans.

Temple told the Rep-Am that "we're gonna do it," when it comes to providing a tax cut for residents at the local level. He did tell the Rep-Am that he's still working on how to accomplish tax cuts.
