Today in Oxford:
- First Selectman George R. Temple said the bond rating process took a long time, but "it is going to have a favorable impact on our Standard & Poor's rating," via selectmen meeting minutes. He noted that the credit agencies had high marks for how the town is managed and that a good bond rating will lead to a good interest rate, which will save taxpayers money.
- Oxford received $1.8 million from the federal government for the COVID-19 stimulus plan, and there are some initial plans on how to spend the money. The heating and cooling in the old middle school, and the new Oxford Police station in the old Center school, which needs renovations such as holding cells and storage areas, evidence lockers, Temple reported to the selectmen.
