DUIs, Vandalism at School Field Lead Police Blotter

- Someone drove a car over the infield of the softball diamond at – and ruined the surface by driving in circles or “doing doughnuts” - sometime between 7 p.m. on March 6 and 7 a.m. on March 8, police said. The approximate cost to repair the infield is $200, police said. Additional steps will be taken to add barriers that will prevent or deter vehicles from doing this again, according to the report filed by Oxford Officer David Ives. - A 57-year-old Oxford man has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol after being involved in a one-car accident on Christian Street on Dec. 17, according to a news release on file at the Oxford Resident Trooper’s Office. Salvatore Digrazia, of Nancy Lane, was arrested on a warrant following a lengthy investigation; he later pleaded not guilty at Derby Superior Court. His next court date is April 13.
- A Southbury man was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol after an officer saw him drive his car to the extreme right of the road and strike a curb, police said in a news release. Gary Dennen was pulled over near the intersection of Larborde Road and Pisgah Road at 10:24 p.m. on March 12, police said. He failed field sobriety tests, according to the report, which did not state when his court date would be or his address.
- On March 10, a mailbox and its post were damaged at 6 Somers Lane during the earning morning hours. Anyone with information is asked to call 203.888.4353.
