Police received a report of a man who made a threat to someone while holding a knife at his home Friday night, according to police.
Timothy Charles Beach, 49, of 7 Knorr Road, Oxford, did not do anything with the knife and nobody was injured, police stated in a news release.
Beach was charged with threatening and disorderly conduct. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is expected to be arraigned today at Derby Superior Court.

Police are searching for someone who is believed to have thrown a rock through the kitchen window of on Great Hill Road in Oxford on Wednesday.
Nobody was injured in the incident. Anyone with information about it is asked to call Officer Luke Ramirez at the Oxford Resident Trooper’s Office at 203.888.4353. All calls will be kept confidential.

A local couple was arrested after getting into an argument that turned physical in front of a young child, police said.
Police said Jayme Bouve, 21, was holding a child while William J. Marquardt, 31, grabbed her; the child was not harmed.
The incident happened at the home that the couple shares at 553 Roosevelt Drive last week.
Marquardt was charged with risk of injury to a minor, breach of peace and unlawful restraint. Bouve was charged with disorderly conduct.
The couple was arraigned at Derby Superior Court. Both of their cases are awaiting disposition, according to the state’s Judicial Branch.
A local woman was arrested after she became physical with her husband during an escalated argument at their residence, police said.
Kelly Kirkland, 32, of 8 Heavenly Lane, Oxford, was charged with disorderly conduct.
She was arraigned at Derby Superior Court, and her case is awaiting disposition at the courthouse, according to the state’s Judicial Branch.
A local man was recently apprehended with help from Newtown police in connection with family violence.
Richard Scott Markham, 40, of Oxford, has been charged with several counts in connection with family violence including breach of peace, unlawful restraint, third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation and reckless endangerment. All of those charges are awaiting disposition at Derby Superior Court, according to the state's Judicial Branch.
Police responded to a report of a disoriented woman who had a flat tire at the at 1 Oxford Road.
Diane M. Thorpe, 54, of 45L Shelton Ave., Shelton, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol. She was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is expected to be arraigned today at Derby Superior Court.
