Recent Oxford High School Graduate Honored
He was promoted to 2nd lieutenant in the United States Army.

OXFORD, CT — 2014 Oxford High School graduate, Steven Perrson was promoted to 2nd lieutenant in the United States Army. During the ceremony, held at the Oxford Town Hall, Steven was honored with his first salute given by his grandfather, David A. Persson, who served in the Army Air Corps in the Korean War.
First Selectman George Temple stated, “I have know Steven for close to 20 years and was his
flag football coach. Steve was always a leader. His leadership abilities have always been evident and I am sure he will do Oxford proud in his service to our country.”

Officer Persson completed 4 years of ROTC training and graduated with a degree in construction management and a minor in minor in civil engineering at Norwich University in Vermont. Steven is headed to Fort Benning, Georgia for officer training. Steven is the son of Jo-Ann and Glenn Perrson of Oxford.
