St. Peter's 250th Anniversary - 1764 - 2014
English Tea and Stained Glass Window Tour

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Oxford celebrates its 250th anniversary this year. It was founded in 1764 by a group of early settlers who wanted to bring Church of England worship to the young town. While rejoicing in the church’s two and a half centuries in Oxford, church members are seeking to honor the past by building for the future. They are:
- Doing 250 Random Acts of Kindness
- Celebrated with a St. Peter’s float in the Memorial Day parade
- Hosted a presentation on St. Peter’s history and luncheon at the Oxford Senior Center
- Contributing 500 items to the Oxford-Seymour Food Bank
Another event coming up to which the public is invited is a 250th Anniversary English Tea and Stained Glass Window Tour on Saturday, October 4, 2:00 p.m. You will enjoy the stained glass windows, this will tell the rich story behind each of them. You will learn the symbolism of each window and about the people in whose memory they were given. Then enjoy an elegant English tea with all the trimmings. Wear a hat if you like! Invite your friends - everyone is welcome! A special invitation to those who were baptized, confirmed or married at St. Peter’s to join us for this celebration. For more information contact Rev.
