State Police: Untimely Death in Oxford Ruled Suicide

A man whose body was found in woods near Silano Drive and Punkup Road Wednesday night committed suicide, state police said.

The man was 35 years old and lived in Ansonia, said Lt. J. Paul Vance, state police spokesman. He said police ruled out foul play and police have ruled it a suicide.

The state Medical Examiner's Office in Farmington is supposed to complete an autopsy by tomorrow morning, he said. Vance would not release any further information.

Silano Drive and Punkup Road were closed for several hours Wednesday evening while police investigated. 

As a rule, police do not release the names of suicide victims. It is the same in this case.
