Strand
Ole Opry Stages Country Blue Grass Festival to Save Historic Seymour Theatre
“Farmer” Kim Dulka of Downtown Seymour’s
new gem, the All American Valley General Store, walks some of the cast of her
now state-wide renowned Wednesday Open Mic performers around the corner to save
downtown Seymour’s old gem, the Strand Theatre, one of Connecticut’s only
remaining single screen movies houses still exhibiting films … till the town
sadly pulled the plug on funding after years of running in the red. Dulka, a fourth generation Seymour farmer,
found her way home after a few years in Nashville, following her dream of being
a country western singer. She brings
that beloved flavor to the Strand’s historical stage on Saturday, March 22. Doors open at 6:30 pm, and folks can enjoy a café
supper around the corner at the Valley General Store right up to curtain time
at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20 and can be
purchased in advance at the General Store (16 Bank St) or at the door (165 Main
St).
