SUV Hits Truck in Oxford, Leads to Fuel Spill

A Manchester man and a Waterbury woman avoided serious injury.

A Waterbury woman, Mary Rowland, 60, and a Manchester man, Douglas Girard, 44, of Manchester, avoided injury Monday when an SUV struck a truck on Route 67 in Oxford leading to a ruptured fuel tank, reports Bill Bittar, of the Waterbury Republican-American.

The crash occurred Monday at the intersection of Dutton Road, and the state Department of Energy and Environmental responded to clean up the diesel fuel.
