
Sections of three Oxford roads were closed due to trees and wires down as of 7:50 p.m. Thursday, Oxford Fire Chief Scott Pelletier said.
The closed roads were:
- Larkey Road near Bonnie Lane
- Old State Road No. 1
- Chestnut Tree Hill Road near Cedarstone Road
No inuries were reported, nor were there any reports of trees on homes or cars, Pelletier said. He said firefighters responded to a report of two boaters in trouble at Jackson's Cove, but when firefigfhters responded, they were already out of the boat.

He also said there were no flooding problems Thursday near the Stevenson Dam on Roosevelt Drive, Route 34.
As of 8 p.m., Connecticut Light & Power reported 636 Oxford customers, or 12 percent of the customers the company services in Oxford, were without power. Statewide, more than 119,000 people were without power, CL&P reported.
