Town Hall Employees Help Clean Up Oxford
The employees donated their lunchtime to help clean up trash left behind.

From Oxford Town Hall: Several Oxford Town Hall employees donated their lunch time to participate in the town wide clean up sponsored by the Oxford Conservation Commission Inland Wetland Agency.
The heavily traveled Governors Hill Road was this yearβs mission. After the snow melted, the amount of trash on the roadside was very visible.
Selectman Scott Flaherty stated,β I am very disappointed with the amount of trash that people carelessly toss along the roadside. If everyone chips in to clean up, it will go a long way.β

The Town Hall crew picked up over ten bags of garbage leaving them roadside for the Public Works Department to dispose of.
First Selectman Temple said βOnce again in observance of Earth Day, it's time for us to self-examine our approach to our planet. We start in our town and try to make that a better place and cleaner place. We need the help of all towns people in accomplishing this goal.β

The town wide clean-up is an annual event that runs from April 1st through April 30th. If you are interested in participating, you can find the pledge form at the Inland Wetlands Department or on the town website at www.oxford-ct.gov.
