Update On Oxford Acquiring 132-Acre Schreiber Property
The topic of the Schreiber Property was discussed at a recent Board of Selectmen meeting.

OXFORD, CT — At a Board of Selectmen meeting last week, Oxford First Selectman George R. Temple issued an update on the 132-acre Schreiber Property on Quaker Farms Road that the town would like to acquire for open space, according to meeting minutes.
Temple told the selectmen that no price has yet been negotiated for the potential land sale. He said a section of the land is being considered for soccer and or baseball fields, with the balance to be used a nature preserve wildlife refuge area.
There is a pond for fishing on the property as well as a camping area. The land will also serve as home to bird nesting areas.
