Waterbury Hospital Auxiliary Inc. is hosting artist Mary Jane Ives of Oxford in its Art Corridor until April 12.

From Waterbury Hospital: Waterbury Hospital Auxiliary Inc. is hosting artist Mary Jane Ives of Oxford in its Art Corridor until April 12.

Ives has been painting for more than five decades. Her paintings have been displayed throughout Connecticut in various galleries, libraries, outdoor and indoor art shows. She is a regular participant in the Oxford Arts and Crafts Show and more recently participated in an exhibit titled “The Art of Aging” sponsored by the Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut.

Ives said she prefers to work in oils because of their brilliance and durability. Her choice subject matters include seascapes, landscapes and varied still life subjects.

Ives her retirement from Saint Mary’s Hospital, Ives dedicates her time to teaching oil painting classes for beginners in her home. She dedicates the rest of her spare time to her art.

Ives has lived in Oxford for more than 30 years with her husband Robert.
