Watermark University Spring 2015 Classes Available to Southbury-Area Seniors
Active aging classes designed to keep seniors physically and mentally fit
The Watermark at East Hill is pleased to announce that its Watermark University Spring semester is now underway, with course catalogs available for seniors living in the Greater Southbury area. Watermark University is a continuing education program that features diverse topics and programs designed to keep seniors’ minds and bodies fit. Courses are held at the senior-living community, located at 611 East Hill Road in Southbury.
“From technology workshops and crafts, to history and fitness classes, Watermark University includes a wide variety of programs everyone can enjoy,” said Melody Floyd, Community Life Director at The Watermark. “We hope seniors around Southbury will join our residents and take advantage of this opportunity to discover new hobbies and talents, or rekindle interests from the past.
This semester, Watermark University is offering a drama course developed to foster a sense of adventure from students as they act and work together. In this class, Tony DiFabbio, a director and drama teacher with forty years of experience, will lead theater and improvisation exercises that explore various life situations from early memories to present experiences. For a $75.00 enrollment fee, the course includes 8 sessions, which will be held on Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. from April 9 until May 28.

The Watermark will also host an iPad and iPhone workshop on Wednesday, February 11 at 2:00 p.m. The workshop will be led by resident Parker Moreland, and The Watermark at East Hill’s Associate Executive Director, Dave Schupack. Time will be spent helping those who wish to gain more user-friendly knowledge of Apple devices, including email, Internet, iTunes, and the basics of taking and sharing photos. This event is free of charge and open to the public, attendees should bring their own Apple devices.
