The National Weather Service Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m.

The National Weather Service’s Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. tonight and there is still a snow chance until 11 p.m.

In a storm that already dumped several inches of snow on the area overnight, now we are firmly in the midst of a major ice storm that will continue throughout the whole day including this evenings commute home from work if you ended up going.

The heavy snow will mix with sleet and freezing rain and will continue throughout the day accumulating an additional 5-9 inches and a total storm accumulation of 8-13 inches.
