Weather Update: This Sure Doesn't Feel Like Spring in Oxford

Monday morning felt like a cold winter morning, and the temperatures don't really rise that much over the coming week.

We’re now comfortably into spring, ok day 4 now, but this is getting ridiculous.

Depending on where you are, you woke up to temps either in the teens or low 20s on Monday, and it’s not really going to warm up that much, especially today where temperatures may struggle to hit the freezing mark.

It will feel a bit warmer on Tuesday and Wednesday, but nothing like spring temperatures.

And yes, we hit the 50 degree mark on Thursday, but it will be pouring, and then the temperatures crash again.

The good news, no snow in the seven day forecast, though it could rain Wednesday and Thursday, and next weekend is already looking pretty chilly.

As of right now Friday looks like the best day of the week, weather wise, with temps in the high 40s but it will be mostly cloudy.

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Darren Sweeney writes on social media, “The average high ‘should be’ around 50!.. Temps do get better toward mid-week, with some rain on Thursday. But... get ready, more cold air invades toward the end of week into next weekend. BTW, I see that pattern continuing right into April. When do we “break” the pattern? I say mid April. ... just the messenger.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons writes on social media, “At least the temperature will be going up in the forecast through Thursday! Have a good week, but bundle up out there today!”

News 12 Connecticut Weather writes on social media, “Walking on Sunshine!

...A cold sunshine… Highs today top out at about 34 degrees under sunny skies. There will be a slight breeze from the north that keeps the temperature from rising much higher.”

“Tomorrow [Tuesday] is looking sunny once again - maybe even a bit warmer! Temperatures will range between 37 and 40 degrees as a high. There will be some thin clouds out there too. Although it will be chilly, enjoy the day!”
