Which Connecticut Community Got The Most Rainfall on the Fourth of July?

The heavy rains that fell on the Fourth of July are now a memory and Hurricane Arthur has moved on.

The torrential rains flooded roads in some parts of Connecticut while numerous trees and power lines feel knocking power out to thousands in the state. Rains also made people change their Fourth of July plans, and postponed fireworks in many places. 

Which communities were hit hardest? 

New London County hit the jackpot for most rainfall from the Fourth storm with 1.82 inches of rain. Middlesex County finished a close second with 1.42 inches.

Power still remains out for 1,400 Connecticut Light & Power customers including 900 in Glastonbury. Only 42 people are without power who are United Illuminating Co. customers including 31 in East Haven.
