2 Ridgefield Arts Orgs Score Federal Grants

The grants were among $125,000 in federal money earmarked to support arts and culture in Southwest Connecticut.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Two Ridgefield arts organizations were each awarded grants by the National Endowment for the Arts.

ACT of Connecticut was awarded $10,000 to support a series of theater performances for underserved audiences, and Thrown Stone Theatre Company was also awarded $10,000 to support a production.

The grants were among $125,000 in federal money earmarked to support arts and culture in Southwest Connecticut, awarded by the NEA through its Grants for Arts Projects and Challenge America programs.

"Southwest Connecticut is home to a vibrant arts scene that enriches our communities and strengthens our local economy," said U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, who represents the 4th District in Connecticut. "This federal funding will expand access to music, dance and theater, bring artistic projects to life, and further cultivate our state’s strong creative tradition."
