Absentee Ballots for August 14 State Primaries Now Available

Connecticut has strict laws determining who may and may not vote absentee.

RIDGEFIELD, CT -- The Town Clerk has announced that absentee ballots for the August 14, 2018, Republican and Democratic State Primaries are now available.

Residents may pick up their absentee ballots at the Town Clerk's office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office will also be open Saturday, August 11, 32018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m for absentee ballots only.

By law, only residents who answer "yes" to one of the following questions may vote as an absentee:

  • Are you an active member of the armed forces of the United States?
  • Will you be out of town during all the hours of voting on Election Day?
  • Does illness prevent you from voting in person on Election Day?
  • Do your religious beliefs prevent you from performing secular activities like voting on Election Day?
  • Will you be performing duties as an election official at a polling place other than your own during all the hours of voting on Election Day?
  • Do you have a physical disability that prevents you from voting in person on Election Day?
