ACT of Connecticut in Ridgefield Wins Top BroadwayWorld Awards

Nominations were reader-submitted and voted on by the theater community.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — ACT (A Contemporary Theater) of Connecticut has been awarded 11 of the 2018 BroadwayWorld Connecticut Awards for an Equity Theater, including “Best Musical” and “Theater of the Year 2018.” Nominations were reader-submitted and voted on by the theater community.

“We’re truly honored to have our incredible productions recognized by the theater community during our inaugural year,” said Daniel C. Levine, Artistic Director for ACT of CT. “We are also extremely thankful for our supporters who voted for us and continue to appreciate the power of regional theater!”

ACT of Connecticut’s production of “Evita” won awards in the Equity categories for: Best Musical, Best Director in a Musical (Daniel C. Levine), Best Actor in a Musical (Angel Lozada), Best Choreography (Charlie Sutton), Best Ensemble Performance in a Musical, Best Costume Design (Brenda Phelps), Best Lighting Design (Jack Mehler), Best Musical Direction (Evan Roider), Best Scenic Design (Jack Mehler) and Best Sound Design (Stephen Jensen). ACT of Connecticut was also recognized as Equity Theater of the Year.

ACT of Connecticut’s next production is the reimagined, multimedia adaptation of Stephen Schwartz’s musical "WORKING." This show will run for a limited engagement from Feb. 14 through Mar. 10.

ACT of CT is located at 36 Old Quarry Road in Ridgefield.
