RIDGEFIELD, CT -- ACT of CT is presenting a special sensory-friendly performance of "Mamma Mia!" on Sunday, June 24, at 2:00 p.m.
Accommodations at this performance include lower sound levels, adjusted lighting and the removal of startling special effects.
In addition, theater house lights will remain on at a low level throughout the performance, and a quiet room will be available for guests wishing to take a break from the performance. ACT of CT is promoting the performance as a "judgement-free zone."
Sensory-friendly productions provide individuals on the autism spectrum with an autism friendly environment -- a manageable degree of sensory stimuli -- which will make them calmer, better able to process the sensory stimulation they receive, and better able to relate to others.
Tickets to the special sensory performance are free, but being offered "first come first served. Space is limited.
ACT of Connecticut is located at 36 Old Quarry Road in Ridgefield.
