Aimee Berger-Girvalo Receives Citizens’ Election Program Grant

$28,150 Public Financing Grant to Support Her Campaign

Aimee Berger-Girvalo, Democrat and Candidate for State Representative for the 111th District (Ridgefield), has received a public financing grant to support her campaign through Connecticut’s Citizens’ Election Program. As a candidate for State Representative, Aimee was eligible for a maximum grant of $28,150 based upon raising $5,000 from at least 150 small donors who live in Ridgefield. She exceeded the number of required donors and dollars in one week and received the maximum grant after submitting the required documentation to the SEEC nearly two months ago.

The Citizens’ Election Program (CEP) is a national landmark in clean elections and campaigns designed to limit the influence of private money in the State of Connecticut’s political process and encourage citizen participation. Aimee notes that CEP is a voluntary public campaign financing program that she chose to participate in. “Because I am not reliant on special interest money, I have been able to campaign honestly and effectively.”

Aimee is thrilled to receive the CEP grant to run for State Representative. “Thank you to all of the Ridgefield residents who supported my campaign with donations of $5 to $100. Your contributions and your work on this campaign inspire me. Your desire for change and better representation for Ridgefield in Hartford is my mission. Now is the time to get involved. November 6 is just two months away. I welcome your input and would be honored to have you volunteer with my campaign.”
