At Wooster School, a co-educational, 3 -12 independent day school in Danbury, CT, we’ve spent the last couple of years thinking about -- and asking parents: “What are the most important jobs that we do for you?” In other words, what’s most important to them when they think about the progress that they’d like to see their child make in school? It has been gratifying to learn that the things that make us stand apart from other schools, the strongest elements of our community, culture, and programs, are also what parents most want.

Throughout their experience, students are building their skills -- like reading, writing, and math -- and the so-called “soft” ones, like communication, empathy, and resilience. Finally, we want all students to understand and be active participants in creating pathways that lead to wellness and fulfillment, which is what success in life is all about, right?
