RIDGEFIELD, CT — The principals of Stamford-based Riko's Pizza purchased a Ridgefield restaurant property for $1.5 million, the Hartford Business Journal is reporting
The buyer, 955 Ethan Allen LLC, is controlled by Luigi Cardillo and Robert Furnari, and the one-story, 4,003-square-foot building at 955 Ethan Allen Highway was acquired in early May.
The site was formerly home to John's Best Pizza.
The new Ridgefield location will be Riko's sixth corporate-owned restaurant and 13th overall. It will feature a full-service restaurant and bar, with a 3,000-square-foot upstairs dining level including 16 bar seats, an open dining area, TVs for sports viewing, outdoor patio seating, a large private dining room on the lower level, and a dedicated takeout area. The restaurant is expected to open this summer, according to industry trade website Restaurant News Resource.
"We're thrilled to bring the Riko's experience to this historic and culture-filled community, which is perfectly situated along the New York border, further enhancing our Western Connecticut presence," said Carl Bachmann, president and CEO of Riko's Pizza, in a March news release.
Riko's was founded in Stamford in 2011 and currently has corporate locations in Darien, Fairfield, Norwalk, Westport, and two in Stamford, plus franchise locations in Florida, North Carolina, and New York.
