RIDGEFIELD, CT — Big band music, folk performances and klezmer are scheduled this week during the CHIRP concert series in Ridgefield.
The Bob Button Band will perform Tuesday, June 23, at 7 p.m. in Ballard Park. According to CHIRP organizers, the 14-piece group performs music from the Big Band Era, including cha cha, samba, swing, salsa and waltz selections.
The Connie Kaldor Family Band is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, at 7 p.m. Kaldor is a three-time Juno Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter whose career began in the 1970s.
Metropolitan Klezmer will perform Thursday, June 25, at 7 p.m. The seven-member ensemble performs traditional and contemporary interpretations of Yiddish music and has released five albums since forming in 1994.
CHIRP presents free concerts throughout the summer in Ballard Park. Concerts are generally held outdoors, with East Ridge Middle School Auditorium used during inclement weather, according to organizers.
