RIDGEFIELD, CT — Soul-blues musicians Sugaray Rayford and Southern Avenue are scheduled this week during the CHIRP concert series in Ridgefield.
Sugaray Rayford will perform Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m. in Ballard Park. According to organizers, Rayford is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter who has won multiple Blues Music Awards.
Grammy-nominated Southern Avenue, a 5-member Memphis soul, blues & gospel outfit is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m.
CHIRP is celebrating its 25th anniversary season in 2026, presenting free concerts Tuesdays and Thursdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day in Ballard Park. Concerts are generally held outdoors, with indoor locations used during inclement weather, according to organizers. The series is funded through donations from individuals, foundations and local businesses and is co-sponsored by the town through the Parks & Recreation Department and The Ridgefield Press.
