Muse Squad has a Hero In the Heart of Adelaine Fincham

On behalf of our Board of Directors and our whole team, we're so grateful to Ms. Adelaine Fincham for her time serving as Muse Squad's Assistant Director, and wish her all the best in this next chapter.

Since May 2024, a young woman named Adelaine Fincham has been working extremely hard behind the scenes here at Muse Squad, our creative writing non-profit organization.

You may recognize "Della" as we lovingly call her, as one of Ridgefield's very own. Adelaine was part of the nation's first class of female Eagle Scouts, when with nearly 1,000 other young women, she made history. The gifts she's bestowed on the world, especially in her community, didn't stop there.

Adelaine was our very first College Intern while attending Cornell University. Her internship began in the summer before her junior year. She connected with Muse Squad through the valiant efforts of local Ridgefield mother and educator, Lisa Stern, and our dear friend, Stamford resident, mother, and passionate volunteer, Takeia McAlister. Lisa was our Head of Internships & Volunteers, and Takeia mentored us and helped launch our College Internship Program in spring 2024. Their support ultimately brought Adelaine to Muse Squad. We couldn't have done this without them!

From that day forward, Adelaine has helped our non-profit organization move mountains.

There was never an assignment she shied away from. Taking a trip down memory lane, back to the first event she volunteered with us was Muse Squad's Family Fun Party at Xtreme Play Adrenaline Park in Danbury, Connecticut. Her kind and gentle nature inspired children and families. She dove right into Grant Writing, Photography, Press Releases, Social Media, Fundraising, Community Outreach. Before her summer internship had concluded, we offered her the volunteer position of Assistant Director. And she took it!

Upon returning to college in the fall at Cornell University, Adelaine put together a team of volunteers, and she's been leading them ever since. She's helped Muse Squad gain partnerships, and worn too many hats to keep track of.

Thanks to Adelaine, the Handbooks and Workbooks for our Instructors and Students, are in the process of being ready to print!

As Adelaine heads towards a bright future at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, the long list of her accomplishments at Muse Squad is bustling in her wake. Even though she is stepping down from her role as Assistant Director and passing the torch, she is and always will be just as much a part of Muse Squad. She has so much talent and heart. Every hero needs to chase their dreams.
