RIDGEFIELD, CT — Aquarion Water Authority said a water main replacement project is scheduled to begin Sept. 14 on Peaceable Street in Ridgefield.
The work will then continue on Peaceable Hill Road and Peaceable Ridge Road, according to the company. The project is expected to be completed by the end of February, with final paving to be scheduled in coordination with the town.
Aquarion said the project will install about 6,567 feet of water main as part of work on its water distribution system. The company said the upgrades are intended to reduce leaks and water main breaks that can cause service interruptions.
M. Rondano Inc., based in Norwalk, will serve as the contractor for the project, according to Aquarion.
Customers should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during construction hours, which are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the company said.
"We greatly appreciate residents' patience during this project," Aaron Nezvesky, Aquarion's manager of utility programs, said in the release. "We will work closely with our customers, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions."
Aquarion said it uses an Everbridge notification system to call affected customers about scheduled and unscheduled work. Customers may sign up for the service online here.
