Ridgefield Library will host Halloween activities Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31, according to its announcement. The lineup includes an adult craft workshop, children's storytime and costume parade, and treats during the Town of Ridgefield's Halloween Walk.
The Halloween Paper Basket workshop for adults runs from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in the Donofrio Family Technology Center. Participants will learn to make a paper basket, with all materials provided. Registration is required and closes at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30. Adults can register for the workshop through the library's event page.
Halloween Storytime & Parade runs from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in the Lower Level Program Rooms. Storytime will be followed by a costume parade and trick-or-treating around the library, which will supply goodie bags and goodies. Children are invited to wear costumes and must attend with an accompanying adult. Drop-offs are not permitted.
The storytime page labels registration required, though its description encourages registration and welcomes drop-ins as space permits. Families can register for storytime and the parade until 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30. Library staff may photograph or film the event for publicity, and anyone who does not wish to be photographed should tell a staff member. Recording by others requires advance permission from the library director.
The library will distribute treats on its front lawn from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 31, as part of the town's Halloween Walk. The activity is open to all ages, and visitors are invited to stop by in costume.
The announcement does not list a cost for the activities. Anyone with accessibility concerns or requests for specific accommodations should contact the library.
