And, the appetizer ingredient is...

Blue cheese will be the required ingredient for the appetizer round at Battle of the Chefs

Redolent of fog‐glistened grazing lands and fresh Pacific breezes, Point Reyes
Blue Cheese (courtesy of food sponsor The Chefs’ Warehouse) is the required ingredient for the
appetizer round at Battle of the Chefs on Sunday, June 3, 4 – 7 pm, at Founders Hall. Chefs Brian Bender
(David’s Soundview Catering in Stamford, formerly of Cutting Board Café in Ridgefield), Zachariah
Campion (Bailey’s Backyard, Ridgefield), and André Gainer (Luna Rossa, Ridgefield), will each create an
appetizer that uses classic Point Reyes Blue Cheese as a key ingredient. Battle guests will taste those
appetizers and vote on their favorites. Those votes will be one factor in determining the Battle’s overall
winner.
Eating and voting on appetizers is just one of the Battle’s many activities. Join the Battle to cheer on the
chefs as they compete under pressure to create the winning entrée from a basket of surprise
ingredients, get close to the action as they cook, mingle with the chefs and judges after the competition,
sample gourmet foods, and indulge in delicious appetizers that feature the competition’s secret
ingredients, an open bar, and the chefs’ signature desserts.
The Battle of the Chefs, which is sponsored by Fairfield County Bank, is a fund‐raising event for life‐long
learning at Founders Hall, a donor‐supported education and recreation center for people age 60 and
older. Tickets are on sale now at www.founders‐hall.org.
