Art Walk 2017 to Kick Off August 25th

The streets of Ridgefield will once again come alive when Art Walk 2017 kicks off on August 25th and runs through September 8, 2016. This is Ridgefield Guild of Artists’ fourth annual Art Walk where sixty-six artists from Ridgefield and surrounding towns in Westchester and Fairfield counties participate presenting paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture and more in fifty-three downtown storefronts and inside stores around Ridgefield.

Art Walk 2017 includes many merchants on Main Street, The Marketplace at Copps Hill Common and in between along Danbury Road. Opening night is August 25th from 5-8pm where artists will be at the stores for opening receptions. Saturday, August 26th, is Artist Day, with participating artists filling the streets with demonstrations. RMAC musicians will provide some lively entertainment on Main Street. There will be a companion show, Walk on Down, at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists’ gallery barn at 34 Halpin Lane, featuring one piece from each participating artist. Pam Stoddart, Executive Director and Chair of Art Walk 2017, invites everyone to “Come out on this late summer weekend and help us celebrate the arts in Ridgefield!” All artwork is for sale. Proceeds from sales go back to the 501c3 non-profit organization to help with future programming.

Sponsors for Art Walk 2017 are Ridgefield Apartments (Gold Level) and Books on the Common, Candlelight Shoppe, Fairfield County Bank, Olley Court, Ridgefield Bicycle Company, Rockwell Art & Framing, Sturges Brothers, William Pitt Sotheby’s (Silver Level).
