Barlow Mountain Elementary School Celebrates Teacher Week
This year's theme is 'We all may be different fish, but at BMES we swim together!'

RIDGEFIELD, CT— From Barlow Mountain Elementary School: Teacher Appreciation Week has been in full swing at Barlow Mountain Elementary School. Our annual tradition of showering our teachers and staff with appreciation is something that our community holds very close to our hearts. We have a team at BMES that exceeds expectations on a daily basis. Our staff provides an incredible foundation that supports learning, growth and development for all our students.
This year's theme is "We all may be different fish, but at BMES we swim together!” and references the musical The Little Mermaid in which BMES students performed earlier this year. Our lobby was turned into an underwater oasis showcasing seaweed, coral, fish, an octopus and even mermaids! Doors were decorated with blue water, seaweed, floating fish and sea- themed messages like, "You are O FISH ALLY the best!" and "We're hooked on you!"
Teachers and staff were showered with goodies throughout the week with a breakfast and luncheon and sea themed gifts and treats every day.
This year was very special as our school honored Regina Zafrin, Barlow Mountain Elementary’s Teacher of the Year. Regina has been teaching for 18 years, and 16 of those have been at BMES. In an interview published in the February RPS newsletter, Mrs. Zafrin shared what she loves about BMES: “the collaboration with the teachers, who care very much about all the students.”
The TAW committee thanks Mrs. Zafrin, and all the educators and staff at BMES, for their dedication to our students. Our school agrees that you're "FIN" tastic!
