What better way to bring audiences back to theaters than with some of the most iconic movies in Hollywood history. Grab your sunglasses and fedora for a fun, summer film event - The Blues Brothers 40th Anniversary Screening on Sunday, July 26 at 7pm at The Ridgefield Playhouse part of the Cohen and Wolf, P.C. Movie Series, Pepsi Rock Series powered by Xfinity and Barts Tree Service Comedy Series. Comedy icons John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd star in the outrageously funny musical comedy. After the release of Jake Blues (Belushi) from prison, he and brother Elwood (Aykroyd) take their blues band back on the road in an attempt to raise money for the orphanage where they were raised. Havoc ensues as the brothers seek redemption on their “mission from God.” This special screening is presented with restored digital projection and includes fascinating pre- and post-feature insights by popular TCM hosts.
After debuting on NBC's Saturday Night Live, "Joliet" Jake (John Belushi) and Elwood Blues (Dan Aykroyd) were clearly destined for bigger things ... and a bigger screen. Their movie debut, directed by John Landis, includes musical appearances by Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Cab Calloway, plus cameos from Carrie Fisher, Frank Oz and John Candy.
For tickets ($15) call or visit the box office, 203-438-5795 or go online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
