Ridgefield Police Make Arrest in High School Threat

School officials discovered the threat written in the women's bathroom on Thursday morning.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — A 14-year-old from Ridgefield has been arrested for the threat made against Ridgefield High School early Thursday, the Ridgefield police have reported.

At about 9:00 a.m., Ridgefield High School staff made the police department's school resource officer aware of the threat, found written in a women’s bathroom, which referenced firearms.

Ridgefield school officials dismissed the students shortly after, and police, with assistance from the New York State Police K9 Unit, conducted a sweep of the Ridgefield High School, which turned up nothing.

The unnamed teen was charged with first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. The youth is scheduled to appear at Bridgeport Juvenile Court on June 10.
