Ridgefield, CT – The Ridgefield Half-Marathon, a staple of the local running community, is celebrating its 48th year in 2025 with an exciting transformation. The beloved event has been rebranded as The Ridgefield Road Fest, a day of running and celebration featuring three race distances: the Half-Marathon, the Seven-Miler, and the newly introduced Iris Fund 5K. The festival-style event will take place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, with all races finishing at the event's beneficiary, The Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield.
The Ridgefield Road Fest’s Half-Marathon and 7-miler travels through southern Ridgefield’s Silver Spring area, while the 5K will utilize the roads near the start. The addition of the Iris Fund 5K provides a shorter distance option for participants and furthers the longstanding partnership with The Iris Fund, founded by Ridgefield resident Brittney Crystal to raise awareness about preterm birth and honor the memory of her daughter Iris. The Iris Fund has supported the race for years, famously offering post-race burgers from Chez Lenard to celebrate finishers.
"We wanted to create an event that celebrates running, community, and giving back," said Megan Searfoss, Ridgefield Running (CT Run Co.) owner "The Ridgefield Road Fest brings together competitive athletes, casual runners, and families in a fun, supportive environment, all while benefiting two incredible causes."
Following the races, participants and spectators are invited to the Ridgefield Boys and Girls Club, transformed into Ridgefield Road Fest Central. “The post-race party will feature food, and music to celebrate all finishers," said Amy Hanlon, CT Run Co.’s race Director.
A key element of the rebrand is the festival’s new logo, designed by Evan Gallagher, a fit specialist at Ridgefield Running (CT Run Co.). Inspired by Ridgefield's iconic Cass Gilbert Fountain, the logo showcases three fountain sprays, symbolizing the three race distances. Proceeds from The Ridgefield Road Fest will benefit the Ridgefield Boys and Girls Club and The Iris Fund, supporting local youth programs and research initiatives.
