Ridgefield, CT — The Ridgefield Theater Barn proudly presents Ordinary Days, the acclaimed contemporary musical by Adam Gwon, running this June in the Barn’s intimate performance space.
Directed by Matt Austin &amp; Jessica Chesbro, with Musical Direction by Rodney Loren, Ordinary Days is a poignant and unexpectedly funny sung-through musical that explores how ordinary moments can profoundly shape our lives.
Set in New York City in the years following 9/11, the musical follows four young people searching for connection, purpose, and meaning amid the chaos of modern life. As their stories intersect in surprising ways, Ordinary Days becomes a moving meditation on love, loneliness, ambition, and the beauty hidden within everyday encounters.

Wild chestnut trees can be found in the Groton area and mulberry trees in Stamford; mushrooms are everywhere, but which ones are edible? Orlando by Virginia Woolf (336 pages). A classic in fictional American literature spanning over three centuries tells the story of Orlando as he transitions over the centuries, starting as a young nobleman in Elizabeth’s England, and ends his (now her) tale in 1928 as a wife and mother at the tail end of the women’s suffrage movement. A heartfelt tale looking at the roles of gender through the centuries, and brilliant use of transitioning as being both literal and metaphorical in its analysis of gender throughout history.&nbsp;

The Ridgefield Commission on Aging is pleased to invite local seniors to the Senior Voices presentation on Tuesday, June 9th from 1:00-2:30 PM at the Ridgefield Library. This month the talk will be presented by Susan Davidson, MSW of Westchester Senior Home Care; she is an Aging Life Care Professional (geriatric care manager) and Certified Senior Advisor. 
When aging brings new challenges, most families find themselves piecing together solutions on their own—often without realizing there’s an expert who can guide them every step of the way. Susan Davidson serves as a trusted advisor for older adults and their families to help solve the riddle of senior care. With nearly a decade of experience, she specializes in listening and coaching. Her services include finding resources (including aides), navigating care options, advocating at medical appointments, and helping families have the sometimes-difficult conversations that matter most. She is also a certified dementia care provider. Susan’s number one objective is to give aging seniors the highest quality of life possible at whatever stage they are at. Whether you’re planning ahead or facing an immediate need, this talk will show you how having the right expert by your side can lead to better care and less stress for everyone involved.
This program is open to the public and is especially valuable for older adults, caregivers, and family members who need help planning for and navigating complex care decisions today or someday in the future.
Senior Voices is a free event and hybrid program. Individuals may attend in person or register via Zoom through the library. Participants are invited to enjoy light refreshments and conversation following the program.

Nothing says spring better than our popular Classic Design Luncheon and Lecture! We’re honored to feature Genevieve Wheeler-Brown, the author of&nbsp;<a href="https://beyondblueandwhite.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">“Beyond Blue and White.”</a>
Wheeler-Brown’s book explores the history of Delftware ceramics, focusing on the often-overlooked roles of women as makers, patrons, and collectors, from 17th-century factory owners like&nbsp;Barbara Rotteveel&nbsp;to Gilded Age collectors like&nbsp;Mrs. J. Pierpont Morgan. A must for devotees of decorative arts and the history of material culture. 
Location: The award-winning Jay Estate Gardens designed by Nelson Byrd Woltz. Co-Chairs, Tracy Edwards, Liz Garrett, Emmy Lambert, Lindsay Bello Martin and Suzanne Clary.
Guests will enjoy botanical cocktails and a tour of the blue and white blooms of our gardens at 11:30am followed by lunch and lecture at 12 Noon. Booksigning at 1:30pm. Catering provided by Scarborough Fair Catering.
Spring garden attire and hats encouraged!

GENEVIEVE WHEELER BROWN
Founding Genevieve Wheeler Decorative Art Advisory in 2003, Genevieve comes to the advisory business with more than 12 years of experience in the auction world, strong generalist knowledge and a wide range of contacts in American, European and Asian decorative and fine arts.
Genevieve began her career with Christie’s in 1992 with the European Decorative Arts Department after working as an intern at The Phillips Collection, Washington D.C. in 1990. She was then asked to run Overseas Consignments at Christie’s Park Avenue, a department that handled inquiries for European based auctions including Indian and Southeast Asian art, Islamic Art, Miniatures, Textiles and Cameras. In 1995 Genevieve became the New York contact for sales of Fabergé and Russian Silver at Christie’s Park Avenue and most recently was as a specialist in Fine Musical Instruments at Christie’s Rockefeller Center from 1998 to 2003.
While at Christie’s, she was involved with important sales such as ‘The Pine Cone Egg’ by Carl Fabergé and ‘The Taft’ Stradivari which fetched the auction record for an instrument sold in the United States. She has also been an appraiser on the PBS production ‘The Antiques Roadshow’.
A supporter of several fine and decorative art related institutions, Genevieve has served on the Board of the National Society of Colonial Dames in the State of New York, served as a member of the Young Fellows Steering Committee of the Frick Collection from 1995 to 2005 and co-Chaired the Winter Antiques Show Young Collector’s Night, New York in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Genevieve currently advises several organizations including <a href="https://www.dumbartonhouse.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Dumbarton House</a>, a Federal period house museum in Georgetown, as a board member as well as for <a href="https://www.thewintershow.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">The Winter Show</a> as a vice-chair of Opening Night and as co-founder of The Winter Show Luncheon.About The Jay Heritage Center
